    Responsibilities:

    • Report to Chief Editor of “Our China Story”
    • Compose, edit, and proofread English articles on the website
    • Liaise with editorial team on content development and planning
    • Ensure the quality and consistency of the English website content
    • Update the English website every day
    • Rewrite text to make it easier for readers to understand
    • Meet tight deadlines and monitor workflow
    • Liaise with translation house and to proofread the translated texts: grammar, spelling, and punctuation
    • Handle administrative work and liaise with vendors and translation house to ensure the quality of translation content

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor degree or above in translation, communications, journalism or related discipline
    • At least 5 years of solid experience in translation, publishing, communications, and editorial roles at sizeable organisations
    • A creative thinker with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Ability to work on multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment
    • Good knowledge of current issues, social trends, cultural studies of today’s China
    • Excellent command in both written English and Chinese is a MUST
    • Additional certification in linguistics is a plus
