    Mr. Patrick Lau joined the Hong Kong Civil Service upon graduation from the University of Hong Kong in 1972 and served in various branches of the Government involved in trade and industry, district administration, policy research, town planning and land administration before retiring as the Director of Lands of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.  Apart from his public service with the Urban Renewal Authority and Hong Kong Housing Society, Mr. Lau currently serves as Chairman of the Governing Board, Hong Kong Organic Resources Center,  Member of the Board of Governors, Hong Kong Sinfonietta,  Advisor of the Hong Kong Ideas Center, Advisor of the Hong Kong Countryside Foundation and Honorable Member of the Smart City Consortium.  

    Mr. Lau has been writing in a weekly column of a local newspaper for over 10 years mainly on issues relating to land, housing, smart city, nature conservation and conservation of heritage buildings. Patrick is also a member of the Land, Rehousing and Compensation Committee, Urban Renewal Authority and a member of the Special Committee on Elderly Housing, Hong Kong Housing Society.
