    Mr Chan

    Mr Simon Chan has 40 years’ experience in banking, finance and information technology industries. He has served in many different positions in these sectors, having assumed the positions of the Vice Chairman, the Executive Director, the Chief Executive and other senior roles in Nanyang Commercial Bank, Limited and Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited. He has also served as the directors of Nanyang Commercial Bank (China), Limited, Cinda Financial Holdings Company Limited, Nova Credit Limited, Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (“HKICL”), HKICL Services Limited, and Hong Kong Trade Finance Platform Company Limited. Mr Chan has also actively participated in relevant professional bodies and commercial organizations, as a long-serving member for the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. Mr Chan has garnered extensive experience from his exposure to a wide range of areas, including information technology, corporate governance, organizational reform, risk management, group operations and IT security, for both long-term strategic development and project implementation. Riding on his rich experience and professional knowledge, Mr Chan has been appointed and elected to senior roles in various public organizations and industry entities over the years. He is appointed by the HKSAR Government as the Chairman of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited and the Chairman of Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited, the Chairman of the Banking & Finance Training Board of the Vocational Training Council of Hong Kong, a Member of the Committee on Innovation, Technology and Industry Development, a Member of the Banking Industry Training Advisory Committee of the Education Bureau and a Member of the Finance Committee of the Housing Authority. He is the past President of Information Systems Audit and Control Association China Hong Kong Chapter, and is the Vice-chairman of Hong Kong Information Technology Joint Council Limited. He also serves as an advisor of Our Hong Kong Foundation. Mr Chan graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, and obtained a Master’s degree in Science from the University of Ulster and a Master’s degree in Commerce in Accounting from the University of New South Wales. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor and a Certified Internal Auditor.
