Artificial Intelligence (AI) is fundamentally reshaping the global economy and our labour market. With the World Economic Forum projecting that human-performed tasks will decline from 47% to 33% by 2030, our education system must evolve to prepare the next generation for an AI-augmented future.

To delve deeper into these shifts, Our Hong Kong Foundation (OHKF) organized the 'Navigating AI: Bridging Education and Industry to Nurture Future-Ready Talent' seminar. During the event, the Foundation presented its latest research and hosted a multi-sector dialogue on the evolution of job structures, as well as the collaborative strategies required between educators and industry leaders to foster AI-literate talent.

The seminar featured a strong lineup, with Carl Su, China Mobile Hong Kong Co. Ltd.; Ethan Kwok, Director of the Greater Bay Area Public Affairs of Tencent, Cloud Industry Solution Expert of Hong Kong and Macau of Tencent; Terence Lau, Deputy General Manager of iFLYTEK Hong Kong; Kate Kwan, Senior Manager of Professional Competence Development at the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers as panellists and moderated by Victor Kwok, deputy research director of OHKF.

The seminar expanded on the findings of OHKF's report, 'The Application and Development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Primary and Secondary Education,' published in January 2026. Drawing on insights from 1,200 school principals, teachers, and students, the study confirms that while over 90% of respondents have embraced AI in the classroom, the findings also shed light on critical challenges that must be addressed.
