Mr Wayne CHAU

Wayne is the inaugural Business Incubation Director at the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council, one of the largest charitable organizations in Hong Kong. In this role, he incubates and leads innovative, self-financed ventures to tackle social challenges and improve the lives of people from diverse backgrounds. Wayne is the first Honorary Ambassador of both the University of Turku and the University of Lapland in Finland. He is a member of Meta’s Global Youth Advisory Committee, where he advises the tech giant on building safer and healthier platforms and products for young people. Wayne also serves on the Strategic Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Observatory. He was a former member of the Hong Kong Government’s Commission on Poverty, Community Care Fund Task Force, Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund Task Force, Social Enterprise Advisory Committee, Board of Review (Film Censorship), and the Registration of Persons Tribunal. Prior to his current position, Wayne was a serial social entrepreneur. His ventures, including the Agent of Change Foundation and Agent of Change Company, have supported hundreds of thousands of underprivileged individuals in Hong Kong. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, he mobilized global social entrepreneurs, logistics leaders, and charities to deliver tens of millions of high-grade medical masks and other PPEs to deprived communities and thousands of frontline medical professionals, saving countless lives. One of his ventures was admitted to the Oxford Venture Builder Programme. Wayne holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Education. He is a certified MBTI and MMTIC practitioner. As a fellow of the UNLEASH Innovation Lab 2018, his team achieved a global second-place award. He has earned numerous recognitions, including the International Visitor Leadership Program fellowship, the Hong Kong Volunteer Award, the Hong Kong Youth Service Award, and recognition as a Hong Kong Spirit Ambassador. Additionally, Wayne is an award-winning poet and writer.
