Mr Martin Gilbert BARROW

He joined Jardine Matheson in 1965, after more than 2 years of travels across Asia, and spent 22 years in Hong Kong, 8 years in Tokyo, 3 years in Thailand and 3 years in Saudi Arabia, where Jardines had a major investment at the time. He was Chairman of Jardine Matheson (China) for many years.

He was a member of the Hong Kong Legislature, Chairman of Hong Kong Tourism, Director of the Trade Development Council, Chairman of Deregulation, Chairman of the Hong Kong-Japan Trade Committee, Chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Festival, and many other public roles in Hong Kong.

He continues to work closely with people in Hong Kong across Government and the private sector on promoting Hong Kong across the world.

In the UK, he has been on the committee of the Hong Kong Association for 20 years and was also a Director of the China Britain Business Council for 8 years.

He is very involved in the rebuilding of travel and tourism between Hong Kong and across the world, in both directions.
