Mr Lawrence SHUM

Mr Lawrence Shum is the Chairman of New Navigator Group Limited, a company involved in various sectors including international shipping, oil and gas terminals, warehousing, transportation, and oil and gas supply stations. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Economics. After completing his education, Mr Shum has pursued a career in finance and accountancy at Ernst & Young accounting firm in 2001. In 2009, he became the Managing Director of New Ocean Energy Holdings Limited, where he led various businesses such as marine and land refueling, petroleum gas suppliers, and the largest petroleum gas importer and exporter in South China.

With a focus on the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong Province, Guangxi Province, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Mr Shum invests and operates in the oil and gas industry, including terminals, warehousing, transportation, and supply stations. In 2016, Mr Lawrence Shum established New Navigator Group. He is currently the Shipowner and Chairman, promotes the development of international shipping business and is committed to the shipping transportation fields of bulk cargo, container, petroleum products.

Mr Lawrence Shum is actively involved in the maritime community and is committed to the 21st-Century Maritime Initiative, reaffirms Hong Kong's position as an international financial, shipping, and trade center and seeks to deepen cooperation between Hong Kong, Macao, and the Greater Bay Area. He promotes opportunities in the shipping sector and encourages young people to engage in the maritime industry. His efforts aim to augment Hong Kong's role as an international maritime center and as China’s super-connector.
