Mr Charles LEE

Charles Lee is the Vice Chair and the Managing Partner of PwC China, leading the day-to-day operations of the firm and overseeing Tax, Deals and Consulting businesses. With over 30 years of professional experiences, Charles has extensive experience in serving a diverse client portfolio, specializing in tax and business advisory services. His expertise spans across multiple sectors, with a focus on driving strategic growth and fostering strong client relationships. He has extensive experience in guiding clients through the execution of their China and global strategies, advising on their business arrangement, operating structures, and facilitating their digital and tax transformations.

Charles began his career with the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department. In 1994, he joined PwC and then moved to Shenzhen practice in 2002, and has since deeply engaged in both the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong markets, with a long-term focus on the development of Greater Bay Area (GBA). He returned to Hong Kong in recent years, bringing together his accumulated global vision, cross-border market insights and operational expertise. His unique cross-border professional background has equipped him with in-depth insights into the markets, regulatory environments, market dynamics across the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong. Beyond this, he has maintained continuous attention to government policies and shared his deep insights from professional perspectives on the Hong Kong Budget, Policy Address, GBA development and global expansion, all with a forward-looking vision.

Charles is the fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Taxation Institute of Hong Kong. He is also certified tax agent in Qianhai of China. Prior to his appointment as Managing Partner, Charles served as PwC China’s Tax Leader, where he played a pivotal role in shaping and executing the firm’s tax business strategy, driving service quality excellence and leading talent development and team building initiatives for the tax practice.

As an advocate for community affairs, Charles currently serves as Treasurer of the Community Chest of Hong Kong and Advisor of Our Hong Kong Foundation. In addition, as a strategic partner, he actively represents the Firm to support and drive the Strive and Rise Programme. He is committed to leveraging his professional experience and expertise to contribute to the community.
