Mr Augustus TANG

Augustus Tang is a Director of John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited. His main responsibility is to oversee all matters relating to stakeholder management, corporate relations and issue management. Mr Tang was Chief Executive Officer of the Cathay Pacific Group from August 2019 to December 2022. Prior to this he was the Group Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO), a position he held from 2008. Mr Tang has been with the Swire Group for over 40 years. He first joined Cathay Pacific as a Management Trainee in 1982. Since then, he has held numerous positions within the airline group, notably Director Corporate Development, Director Corporate Planning, and General Manager Business Improvement. He was also an Executive Director on the Board of Cathay Pacific. Mr Tang is active in public duties and serves as a board member of the Community Chest of Hong Kong, a court member of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a member of the Aviation Development and Three-Runway System as well as Advisory Committee of the Transport and Logistics Bureau. Mr Tang is a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Mr Tang graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor Degree (Hons) in Business Administration. He is married with two children.
