Dr David MONG

Dr David Mong is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Shun Hing Group. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1984 and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Santa Clara University, California in 1991. The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The University of Hong Kong awarded him an Honorary Fellow in 2005 and 2009 respectively. The Hong Kong Baptist University and The University of Hong Kong presented the Degree of Doctor of Social Sciences, honoris causa to Dr Mong in 2016 and 2018 respectively. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University presented the Degree of Business Administration, honoris causa in 2017. David’s distinguished contribution to the trade and cultural development between Hong Kong and Japan also earned him the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon by the Government of Japan in 2019.
Before joining Shun Hing Electronic Trading Co., Ltd., the sole agent for Panasonic products in Hong Kong and Macau, as Executive Director in 1991, David worked at Panasonic Japan for 4 years to equip himself for the future (1985-1989). At present, David is the Managing Director of Shun Hing Electronic Trading Co., Ltd. and the Chairman of the Group overseeing the operation of all Group companies.
David is committed to driving the Group in providing quality service to the community. In pursuance of this mission, Total Quality Management (TQM) has been put into full implementation within the group companies. In 2008, it was awarded the HKQAA Corporate Certificate which recognizes its achievement in the implementation of the ISO9001 Quality Management System. With unceasing efforts, the Group has advocated Green Office Practices to protect the environment.
True to the spirit of give and take, David chairs the Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund that has donated over HK$1.7 billion towards projects that benefit arts and culture, education, environmental protection, healthcare and science research, sporting events and charitable and community activities in Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas.

Born in 1962, David is married and has three children. He loves sports, and is a qualified swimming coach and an amateur long-distance runner. In recent years, he has taken part in marathon events in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Japan, Korea and Chicago.
