- Advisor of Our Hong Kong Foundation
Born and educated in Ireland, Bill Condon has lived and worked in Asia for over three decades and is an international partner and member of the Global Advisory Board of Millennium Associates AG, a boutique corporate finance advisory firm headquartered in Zurich. He is active across financial services, corporate advisory, corporate communications, energy, technology, minerals, and oil and gas, and has held executive roles in listed and private companies. He brings a client focused, transaction oriented approach, underpinned by extensive experience in new business development. Mr Condon recently completed a consultancy with Our Hong Kong Foundation, to which he had been appointed in September 2023. In that role, he supported the Foundation’s mission to contribute to Hong Kong’s long term prosperity, stability and sustainable development, working with senior leadership. With more than 30 years’ experience in Asia, Mr Condon has advised on cross border transactions, capital raising and strategic development. His work with Millennium Associates AG and earlier with boutique advisory platforms has focused on situations outside the remit of traditional investment banks, including frontier- and emerging markets mandates that demand both entrepreneurial flair and rigorous risk management.
Mr Condon also devotes considerable time to philanthropic, cultural and community service. He serves as a director of The Ireland Funds China, the Hong Kong arm of the global philanthropic network, which, over its 50-year history, has raised more than US$750 million to support over 3,000 organisations. These efforts span education, community development, the arts and culture globally, and peace and reconciliation initiatives on the island of Ireland. He previously chaired the fundraising committee of MedArt – China Orphan Outreach, which expanded from bringing music to people in long-term confinement in Hong Kong, particularly in prisons and hospices, to supporting life saving medical treatment for orphaned babies in mainland China. In the business and professional community, Mr Condon was a founding director of the Irish Chambers of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macau, helping to strengthen Ireland’s ties with the SARs. He also serves as an Honorary Advisor (Marketing and Branding) to the Orion Astropreneur Space Academy (OASA), which promotes the development of the NewSpace economy and talent through education and innovation. Mr Condon has regularly contributed to public discourse as a long-standing commentator for China Daily Hong Kong’s “Comment HK” page and as a judge for China Daily’s 21st Century Cup National English Speaking Competition and the University Campus Newspaper Awards, which nurture media literacy and news writing among students across Greater China. His relationship with China Daily spans over 30 years.
