"CHINA TODAY II" EP34: The Largest Imperial Examination Hall in History - Jiangnan Gongyuan, Jiangsu
Built during the Eastern Jin era, the Fuzimiao (“Confucius Temple”) in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, was once the epitome of higher education in China. Beside the Fuzimiao and built during the Southern Song dynasty is Jiangnan Gongyuan, the foremost symbol of China’s imperial examination system. Today it has been re-established into the Imperial Examination Museum of China. Jiangnan Gongyuan is the largest and most influential imperial examination hall in Chinese history.
