【The 2025-26 Budget - Forecasts】How Can We Deal with the Budget Deficit?
The 2025-26 Budget is scheduled for release on 26 February. Ryan Ip, Vice President of Our Hong Kong Foundation and Executive Director of Public Policy Institute, hopes the Government can address the budget deficit from three aspects, including reducing government size, adjusting public service fees, and lowering construction costs.
He emphasizes that while it is natural for budget deficits to be at the center of public discourse, we must not lose sight of the bigger picture and invest in Hong Kong's future.
