【The 2025-26 Budget - Forecasts】Boosting Hong Kong's Economy through Finance, Sports, and I&T
The 2025-26 Budget is scheduled for release on 26 February. Kenny Shui, Vice President of Our Hong Kong Foundation and Executive Director of Public Policy Institute, shares his insights regarding finance, sports, and innovation and technology (I&T).
In finance, he hopes the Government could consider lowering the threshold for Southbound individual investors in the Stock Connect to stimulate trading volume.
He recommends further promoting sportainment through a combination of "sports + arts + MICE" to a attract more tourists to Hong Kong.
For I&T development, he suggests the Government coordinate the collaboration between the local universities and the business sector for technology transfer and commercialisation of research.
