Katherine Mok: Facilitating "Dying in Place" in Hong Kong
Katherine Mok, Researcher of Our Hong Kong Foundation (OHKF), stated that "dying in place" (DIP) enables patients to spend their last moments in the company of their family members in a familiar setting.
She mentioned the recent streamlined DIP procedures done by the Government, which have facilitated the decision-making of patients, their families, and staff of residential care homes for the elderly, and have uplifted the dignity and autonomy of patients.
