(Hong Kong, February 2, 2015) To inspire the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth and seize the opportunities brought by technological development, Our Hong Kong Foundation is honored to invite Mr. Jack Ma, Chairman of the Alibaba Group and advisor to the foundation, to deliver a speech this evening at the Exhibition Hall 5BC of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Since Our Hong Kong Foundation announced the seminar and the ticket collection method to the public last month, the response has been enthusiastic. Citizens have flocked to the event website to obtain tickets or called in to inquire about event details. All available tickets were fully allotted within a day. The foundation thanks the citizens for their support and apologizes to those who could not get tickets, promising to organize more attractive and diverse themed events for public participation in the near future.

In his opening speech, Mr. Tung Chee Hwa, founder and chairman of Our Hong Kong Foundation, thanked Mr. Jack Ma for taking time out of his busy schedule to be the keynote speaker at the seminar. To promote the spirit of innovation among the new generation, Mr. Tung Chee Hwa also announced that the foundation has invited Professor Lap-Chee Tsui, former president of the University of Hong Kong, to form and lead a "Special Committee on Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship" under the foundation and to serve as its chairman. Mr Victor Lo Chung-wing is appointed as the vice-chairman. Mr. Tung hopes that this committee will bring the best innovative atmosphere to society, cultivate and encourage creativity, and provide an ideal entrepreneurial environment and development space for the new generation in Hong Kong.

After Mr. Jack Ma's speech, Mr. Stephen Chan hosted an on-stage sharing session and a live audience Q&A segment. In the on-stage sharing session, four young people were invited to speak with Mr. Jack Ma on stage, including Mr Rex Sham, co-Founder and chief science officer of Insight Robotics; Ms Samantha Kong, an environmental engineer by profession and the co-founder of Eldpathy Hong Kong; Ms Josie Tam, co-founder at Techpacker.com; and Mr Ching, a second-year student at the University of Hong Kong and Vice President at AIESEC in HKU. In the Q&A session, selected audience questions submitted via WhatsApp before the start of this segment were answered by Mr. Jack Ma live, allowing the audience to gain deeper insights into Mr. Ma's entrepreneurial and success journey from various angles.

Our Hong Kong Foundation was established on November 10 last year, aiming to unite people from all sectors of society to contribute to Hong Kong’s harmony, economic prosperity, and sustainable development. The foundation also aims to serve as a think tank, hoping to promote Hong Kong's excellent development through multi-angle research and advocating new thinking to solve problems.
