For the villagers of the 'cliff village' in Liangshan at Sichuan province, going out used to be a very difficult and even thrilling thing-they had to walk along the steep mountain wall and walk over the vine ladder to get to the bottom of the mountain. By May 2020, 344 villagers from Cliff Village moved to their new homes under the mountain, and the per capita income of the villagers increased to about 9,000 yuan. Cliff Village is a microcosm of the whole of China. Since the reform and opening up, 770 million people have been lifted out of poverty, the poor have become well-off, and the country has become prosperous and strong.
