On 15 April, Vice President and Executive Director of the Public Policy Institute Kenny Shui spoke at the HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair session Grey is the New Gold: Tapping into the GBA's AI & Robotics Boom, where he shared about gerontechnology opportunities emerging across the Greater Bay Area's silver economy and identified the key bottlenecks that may hinder its development in 2026. He subsequently joined a panel discussion with Tony Hong from Strutt and Matthew Qin from Paxini , exploring what makes the GBA well-suited for gerontech product testing and how public-private collaboration can drive wider gerontech adoption in Hong Kong.
