Dr. Peter Lee Ka Kit

    Dr. Peter Lee Ka Kit, GBS, JP is a renowned business leader and a philanthropist. He is the Vice Chairman of Henderson Land Group and the eldest son of Dr. Lee Shau Kee, Chairman of the Group. Dr. Peter Lee was educated in the United Kingdom. He joined Henderson Land Group in 1985 as an Executive Director. He is also the current Vice Chairman of Henderson Investment Limited, a non-executive director of The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited and The Bank of East Asia, Limited.

    Dr. Peter Lee loves his country, cares about Hong Kong, and has been taking an active role in community affairs. Dr. Lee is currently a Standing Committee Member of 12th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and was a National Committee Member and Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee for Economic Affairs of the 9th, 10th and 11th CPPCC.  Dr. Lee was also appointed a Justice of the Peace by the Hong Kong Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2009, and is currently a Member of the Special Needs Group Task Force under Commission on Poverty of Hong Kong SAR Government and Council Member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. He was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS) by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in July 2015.

    Dr. Peter Lee has a long term devotion to charity work. In addition to financial support, he also contributes much of his time and energy towards worthy causes, and often initiates new programs and plans. In recognition of his substantial contributions to the community, he was named “Most Benevolent and Philanthropic Individual” by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in 2007, and became the first person to be honored with the “Huang Yanpei Outstanding Award” by the National Association of Vocational Education of China. Dr. Lee was named an Honorary Trustee of Tsinghua University and received a certificate from the Clinton Global Initiative in 2008. In the following year, Dr. Lee was awarded an Honorary University Fellowship by The University of Hong Kong. In 2012, he was also decorated as Chevalier de l’Ordre de la Légion d’Honneur by The Government of French Republic. In 2014, Dr. Lee was once again awarded “Huang Yanpei Outstanding Award” by the National Association of Vocational Education of China”, and an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Business Administration by Edinburgh Napier University.
