Mr Alfred Chan, BBS

Mr Alfred Chan, a Chartered Engineer, joined Towngas as General Manager – Marketing in 1992 and became its Managing Director in May 1997. 

Prior to joining Towngas, Mr Chan accumulated 18 years of solid experience in the manufacturing sector in both Hong Kong and the UK, across the fields of consumer products, aviation and marine propulsion systems.

Mr Chan has led Towngas in its transformation from a single-focused piped gas company into a multi-disciplinary conglomerate encompassing city water, waste treatment, smart energy, renewable fuels and beyond. Committed to environmental, social and governance development, Mr Chan has also driven the Group’s green endeavours alongside community initiatives to contribute towards a sustainable future.

Today, Towngas has some 2 million customer accounts in Hong Kong. Throughout the past quarter of a century, the Company has developed over 280 city-gas joint ventures in mainland China, where it supplies natural gas to over 40 million households.
