Miss Vena Wei-Yan CHENG
Miss Vena CHENG Wei-Yan is a senior consultant in Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld’s litigation practice, focusing on white collar criminal cases, antitrust, complex commercial litigation and dispute resolution. Ms. Cheng is admitted in New York, Hong Kong and England and Wales (non-practicing). Ms. Cheng has also in recent years contributed to the innovation and technology sector, investing in Sonte Limited and assisting on its business development strategies. Sonte Limited produces a smart film for advertising and projection that can be controlled by any smartphone.
Miss Cheng has been serving the HKSAR Government by participating on various Government boards and committees. Ms. Cheng is currently a member of the Hong Kong Housing Authority, the Innovation and Technology Venture Fund Advisory Committee, the Energy Advisory Committee and the Criminal and Law Enforcement Injuries Compensation Boards, as well as an adjudicator of the Registration of Persons Tribunal.
Ms. Cheng is a member of the Beijing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and is also an active member in various professional committees and associations in Hong Kong and Mainland China. She is a member of the Y. Elites Association, Hong Kong CPPCC Youth Association, Moral Education Concern Group and a director of Opera Hong Kong Limited. She is a committee member of the Beijing Overseas Friendship Association Youth Committee, Fujian Province Overseas Friendship Association Youth Committee and Hong Kong Beijing Association.
