    Mr. Rex Sham is the Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer of Insight Robotics. Growing up as a robot lover, Rex chose to develop his careers in computing technology and artificial intelligence after he graduated from Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2008.

    Rex and his university classmates set up their own company, Hong Kong Robotics, in 2008, developing micro-processor printed circuit boards and various science and technology educational kits. In the same year, they won the 2008 Hong Kong Info & Communication Technology (ICT) Award - Best Professional (Product) Development Certificate of Merit.

    In 2009, Rex established Insight Robotics with a young entrepreneur, Mr. Kevin Chan, and Mr. Albert Ko, the winner of National Relief Hero. By developing innovative technology and solutions, Insight Robotics’ mission is to safeguard natural resources, enable active risk management of the world's assets by generating and making sense of data. Company aims to improve the world and human life by using limited resources more effectively. Rex is now leading the Insight Robotics’ R&D team to develop intelligent wildfire detection system, aerial survey solutions, real-time monitoring and control system, and automated computer vision monitoring system.

    Insight Robotics is an award-winning technology company. In 2014, Insight Robotics won the Golden Award of Best Innovations in Hong Kong ICT Awards, The CISIS China Software and Information Service Smart Living Best Solution Award, etc. Nowadays, over 100 wildfire detection robots have been deployed and 1.3 million ha of land are being protected, Insight Robotics is making contributions to building a beautiful world and reducing the greenhouse effect.

    In 2015, Insight Robotics entered the aerial survey market to provide large-scale and precise mapping to pinpoint high risk areas for forest and agriculture, such as plant infections, crop health and pipeline corrosion. The company's business has expanded to South Africa, Canada, Malaysia and Indonesia. The success of Wildfire Detection Robot has been widely reported by China and foreign media, including CCTV “Xinwen Lianbo” 《新聞聯播》, CCTV 《朝聞天下》, CCTV World News Channel, Xinhua News Agency, China Daily, Associated Press, Hong Kong TVB, etc. In the same year, Insight Robotics was selected by The Wall Street Journal as one of the five most promising start-ups in Hong Kong. Insight Robotics also beat 150 other start-ups and was awarded the prestigious “Entrepreneur of the Year” at the 2015 IBM SmartCamp Global Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada.

    In 2016, Insight Robotics won the highest honor in the Asia-Pacific region's science and technology awards – 2016 Asia Pacific Information and Communication Technology Alliance (APICTA) Awards.
