Prof. Hsin-Kang CHANG, GBS, JP, FREng
Professor H.K. Chang received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from National Taiwan University (1962), M.S. in Structural Engineering from Stanford University (1964) and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University (1969).
Having taught at State University of New York at Buffalo (1969-76), McGill University (1976-84) and the University of Southern California (1984-90), he became Founding Dean of School of Engineering at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (1990-94) and then Dean of School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh (1994-96). Professor Chang served as President and University Professor of City University of Hong Kong from 1996 to 2007.
In recent years, Professor Chang has taught general education courses at Tsinghua University, Peking University, China-Europe International Business School and Bogazici University in Istanbul.
Besides being President-Emeritus of City University of Hong Kong, he is an Honorary Professor at Peking University, Tsinghua University and several other major universities in China.
Professor Chang has published over 100 research articles and two research treatises in biomedical engineering and holds one Canadian patent. In addition, he has authored 11 books in Chinese and 1 book in English, mainly on education, cultures and civilizations. His academic interests now focus on cultural exchanges across the Eurasian landmass, particularly along the Silk Road.
Professor Chang is a Foreign Member of Royal Academy of Engineering of the United Kingdom and a Member of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences.
He was named by the Government of France to be Chévalier dans l’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur in 2000, decorated as Commandeur dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques in 2009, and was awarded a Gold Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2002.
Professor Chang served as Chairman of the Culture and Heritage Commission of Hong Kong (2000-2003), a member of Hong Kong’s Council of Advisors on Innovation and Technology (2000-2004) and of Judicial Officers Recommendation Commission (1999-2005).
He is currently an independent non-executive director of Hong Kong Telecom Trust, Hang Lung Properties, Brightoil Petroleum and Nanyang Commercial Bank.
Pauline YEUNG
Pauline Yeung is a Researcher at the Public Policy Institute of Our Hong Kong Foundation, with primary responsibility for the area of arts innovation. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2016, Pauline worked for six years in finance at Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Pauline has a longstanding interest in arts and culture, encompassing the classical and the contemporary, the Eastern and the Western. Her experiences range from working on French photographer JR’s “Inside Out” public art project, organizing Japanese artist Takashi Murakami’s exhibition during Art Basel, to volunteering at storytelling workshops for children at a local community centre in Hong Kong. A Hang Seng Scholar, Sir Edward Youde Scholar and Daniel M. Sachs Scholar, Pauline holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public and International Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University. She also attended the University of Oxford. Pauline speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean and Japanese.

Bernard Charnwut Chan, GBS, JP
Bernard Charnwut Chan is a deputy to the National People’s Congress of China and a non-official member of Hong Kong’s Executive Council (2004-09 and from 2012). He is also a former member of Hong Kong’s Legislative Council (1998-2008).
A graduate of Pomona College in California, he is the President of Asia Financial Holdings and Asia Insurance. He is Chairman of the Hong Kong – Thailand Business Council and an advisor to Bangkok Bank (China) Co. Ltd. He sits on the boards of several local and overseas companies in the financial services, utilities and manufacturing sectors. He also joined the governing board of the Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund in Hong Kong. Among his public service activities, he is Chairman of the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food, Chairman of the Steering Committee on Restored Landfill Revitalisation Funding Scheme and Chairperson of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. He was Chairman of the Council for Sustainable Development (2009-2015), Chairman of the Antiquities Advisory Board (2009-2012) and Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Revitalisation of Historic Buildings (2008-2016).
He was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 2002, and a Commander (3rd Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand in 2004. In 2006, he was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong SAR Government. In 2015, he received honorary degrees from Lingnan University and City University of Hong Kong.
Elaine NG
Elaine W. Ng is the editor and publisher of ArtAsiaPacific , a 23-year old publication dedicated to contemporary art from Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East. In the mid-1990s she worked at Hanart TZ Gallery, one of the first pioneers of contemporary art from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. From the 2001-2002 Ms. Ng managed Videotage, one of Asia’s first non-profits for film, video and new media, founded in 1983. Ms. Ng has curated programs and presented papers on contemporary art in Asia, Australia, Europe and the US. Ms. Ng has also been a jury member of UNESCO Digital Arts Award (2003) at IAMAS, Gifu, Japan, Ars Electronica Prix Ars (2004, 2005, 2007) in Linz, Austria; Abraaj Capital Art Prize in Dubai, UAE (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011); and in Hong Kong, the SCMP Art Futures (2009, 2010), Societe Generale Chinese Art Award (2010); Lane Crawford Art Futures (2011), Art Basel Hong Kong Discoveries Prize (2012, 2013, 2014), Art Central RISE Award (2016) and the Ateneo Art Awards Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Prize for Art Criticism, Philippines (2016). She currently sits on the advisory board of Asia Art Archive in Hong Kong, New Hall Art Collection at Cambridge University, and Alserkal Avenue in Dubai. Additionally, Ms. Ng acts as a mentor to art students for the mentorship program initiated by Seoul National University. Ms. Ng is based in Hong Kong.
David PONG Chun-Yee, JP
After graduating from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1991, Mr Pong returned to Hong Kong to work for his family business, Shiu Wing Steel Limited. Mr Pong is also a Director of Dim Sum Television.
Mr Pong has served on numerous Government committees and non-profit organizations. He was a Council member of the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts from 2005 to 2010, and was made an Honorary Fellow of the HKAPA in 2012. Mr Pong also served as member of the Board of Governors of the Hong Kong Arts Centre from 2006 to 2012, as well as Board member of the Asia Art Archive from 2005 to 2010.
He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of M Plus Museum Limited (M Plus Board) and Acquisitions Committee under M Plus Board, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Friends of the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Overseas, Mr Pong has been a trustee of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco since 2003.
Mr Pong is a keen collector of contemporary Chinese ink art. In 2003, he co-founded the Ink Society and now serves as the Vice-Chairman. The Ink Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of art inspired by the Chinese ink tradition.
Ada WONG, JP
Ada Wong has led a varied career as solicitor, educator, social innovator and civil society figure. She is a staunch advocate of social innovation, creative education and cultural development.
Ada founded the Hong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture (HKICC), a unique non-profit cultural organization whose mission is education innovation and a creative civil society. Among other projects, HKICC founded the HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity in 2006.
In 2010, she founded the Make A Difference (MaD) initiative (www.mad.asia), a continuing platform to groom the next generation of creative and innovative changemakers in Asia. Two years later, she founded The Good Lab (www.goodlab.hk), a do tank and social innovation hub to enable tri-sector collaborations in bringing about innovative solutions for a better Hong Kong. One of the recent endeavours of the Good Lab is to promote the sharing economy and in particular innovative co-housing projects among young people.
Earlier this year, Ada has been invited by the Mayor of Seoul, Mr Park Won-soon, to join as member of his “Advisory Group for Seoul Innovation" together with social innovation leaders from around the world.
Ada was an elected member of the Urban Council and Wan Chai District Council between 1995 and 2008 with the last four years as Chairperson of the Wan Chai District Council. She received her BA (Hons) from Pomona College, California USA, and M Ed from the University of Hong Kong. She is an Honorary Fellow of Lingnan University and The Education University of Hong Kong.
