Mr. Siu-Leung Ma, MH, BBS

A veteran educator with experience since 1969, Mr. Ma Siu-leung served consecutively as Principal of several Government Secondary Schools before he was promoted to be Principal Education Officer in 1999 to implement the Hong Kong 5-Year Strategy for IT in Education. In 2000, he launched the “Hong Kong Education City” flagship website under the Education Bureau and incorporated it in 2002 as “Hong Kong Education City Limited”, which turned out to be one of the most successful government ventures. Since 2004, Mr. Ma assumed the post of CEO of Fung Kai Public School and led Fung Kai Innovative School to be one of the 12 Microsoft Worldwide Innovative Schools in 2007. He was named as Honorary Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Education in 2016. In 2018, he retired as CEO and assumed the position of Senior Advisor of Fung Kai Public School.

His past and present community services include: Member of the Assessment Panel of the Innovation and Technology Fund for Better Living, Advisory Committee member on Innovation and Technology; Advisor of Our Hong Kong Foundation Limited; Lay Member of the Ethics Committee of the Medical Council of Hong Kong, Member of Hospital Governing Committee of North District Hospital, Member of Hospital Authority New Territories Regional Advisory Committee, Council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Education; Board member of the Hong Kong Education City Limited; Member of the Board of Trustees of Chung Chi College, CUHK; Steering Committee member of the Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged of the Social Welfare Department; Vice Chairman of the HK Council of Smoking and Health; Council Member of the Academy of Chinese Studies Limited; Steering Committee Member of Hang Lung Mathematics Awards; Member of Trustees of The Police Children's Education Trust and the Police Education and Welfare Trust; Member of Discipline Panel of the Social Workers Registration Board, etc.
