「內畫」源於明清時期，是中國獨特的書畫技藝，最早用於裝飾鼻煙壺，於細小瓶子內畫出精美圖案，題材包羅萬有，更契合「須彌芥子」的傳統哲學思想。

宋朝還未有影相技術，當時文人發明了一種釣魚「打卡」的技藝，在紙上1:1重現魚類形貌，這就是「魚拓」。一些瀕臨絕種、或已經消失的魚類，或許都能在魚拓作品中找到痕迹，提醒看客要珍愛自然，保護動物，和諧共生。

曾紅極一時的內地宮鬥劇《延禧攻略》中，有一節講及「萬紫千紅」表演令人印象深刻。這就是河北蔚縣暖泉鎮古老民俗「打樹花」。500多年前，當地鐵匠從打鐵時的火花得到靈感，將鐵水潑灑到城墻上打出萬朵火花，成為平民煙花。
