Helen presented the OHKF’s Arts Tech report during the four-day event held at the Hong Kong Cultural  Centre. She compared arts tech policies from the United Kingdom, South Korea and Taiwan, and detailed policy recommendations for Hong Kong, zooming into four key policy arenas: blueprint, funding, infrastructure and capacity building. She also shared the stage with Mathias, who demonstrated Zuni Icosahedron’s latest stage technologies featuring immersive LED projection and the Soundscape.

The symposium amassed over 150 audiences, which included industry practitioners and delegates from tertiary institutions and the government. Among them were representatives from the Home Affairs Bureau, Leisure and Cultural Services Department,East Kowloon Cultural Centre, and students from the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education.

As the Chief Executive announced dedicated efforts to develop 'Art Tech' in Policy Address 2020, we now anticipate an inter-bureau task force, funding initiatives and infrastructural support. Notably, the East Kowloon Cultural Centre will become a dedicated space for arts tech experimentation, particularly on stage technologies. We are pleased to see the government taking into consideration recommendations from our Arts Tech report and aligning their vision with ours.
